Parking and Transportation
Due to anticipated event traffic, please allow extra time to get to the KC Air Show. Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport DOES NOT offer general parking access or rideshare dropoff. Limited Premium Parking on-site is available but will likely sell out in advance. The Buck O’Neil (Broadway) Memorial Bridge will be closed to all traffic for the air show. Please read below as you plan your visit to the KC Air Show.
The KC Air Show has two designated parking areas that offer FREE Park & Ride shuttle services courtesy of RideKC.
HyVee Arena (old Kemper Arena) in the Stockyards District in the Historic West Bottoms
KC Air Show attendees can park for FREE in designated KC Air Show lots. Additional paid parking in those surrounding areas may be operated by private landowners at their discretion.
General parking is available on a first come, first served basis.
Premium Parking for the KC Air Show is currently available. It is extremely limited.
These spaces are the ONLY on-site parking options available and offer attendees prime access to park on-site at the KC Air Show. Outside of these Premium Parking spaces, all attendees will be required to park off-site and utilize the FREE RideKC shuttles. Premium Parking is day specific. Parking does NOT include admission to the KC Air Show. Separate admission ticket required. Pass is good for one vehicle admission to the premium parking lot. Does NOT include in and out privileges. Vehicles will only be allowed to enter the premium parking area once. Premium Parking for KC Air Show is accessible from 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on the day of the designated pass. Gates open at 9:00 a.m. Rain or Shine. No Refunds or Exchanges.
Accessible Parking for guests with disabilities is available on a first come, first served basis at both designated KC Air Show parking areas. Guests must have their state-issued tag or placard visible.
There is NO available accessible parking on-site at the airport.
The FREE RideKC Shuttles will have designated accessible shuttles.
FREE Ride KC Shuttles will operate from three locations, providing air-conditioned bus rides to/from the KC Air Show. NO OTHER VEHICLE ACCESS will be allowed across the bridge.

Free RideKC shuttles will run a continuous loop to and from the KC Air Show. The initial route will run from the West Bottoms at HyVee Arena, to 11th & Oak, to 7th & Baltimore and to the airport.
Shuttles to the KC Air Show run from 8 am to 2 pm from all three locations. Shuttles will exit KC Air Show from 8 am to 6 pm.
KC Streetcar operates a free, 2.2-mile route loop through Downtown Kansas City with access to hotels, parking, restaurants and more. Attendees can utilize the NORTH LOOP stop at 7th & Main to exit the KC Streetcar and pickup the official RideKC Shuttles.
North Loop KC Streetcar Stop (short walk to 7th & Baltimore RideKC Shuttles)
Attendees utilizing rideshare are encouraged to tell their driver to drop attendees at the 7th & Baltimore shuttle location. Attendees can pickup the Free RideKC Shuttles to the air show.
NO rideshare vehicles will be allowed to access the airport.
Use 7th & Baltimore RideKC Shuttles
Designated walking routes across the Buck O’Neil Bridge will be available at specific times. If you DO NOT utilize the Free RideKC Shuttles, the only way to get to the KC Air Show is to walk across the bridge. The walk across the bridge to the KC Air Show Gate is approximately ¾-mile.
If your rideshare drops you off outside of the drop-off zone, you will be required to walk, unless you visit one of the three RideKC Shuttle locations.
