When is the KC Air Show?
The KC Air Show will take place on Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7, 2019.
Where is the air show?
The KC Air Show is located at the picturesque Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport just across the Buck O’Neil (Broadway) Bridge in Kansas City, Missouri.
How do we get there?
You will NOT be allowed to drive and park at the airport due to limited access and parking availability. NO Vehicle Access will be allowed. The KC Air Show will provide several attendee options to choose from:

Park FREE in a designated KC Air Show lot:
- HyVee Arena (old Kemper Arena) in the Stockyards District in the Historic West Bottoms

- Liberty Lot in the Stockyards District in the Historic West Bottoms

- Ed Wolf Garage at City Hall
1100 Oak St, Kansas City, MO 64106

Additional paid parking may be available in these locations as determined by private landowners. The FREE parking locations will be designated by KC Air Show signage and include these areas listed above.
Official FREE RideKC Shuttle Pickup Locations:
KC Air Show and Ride KC will operate free air-conditioned shuttles to/from the KC Air Show:
- HyVee Arena
- City Hall (11th Street & Oak Street)
- 7th Street & Baltimore Street
Free RideKC shuttles will run a continuous loop to and from the KC Air Show. The initial route will run from the West Bottoms at HyVee Arena, to 11th & Oak, to 7th & Baltimore and to the airport.
No other vehicle access will be allowed across the bridge and the FREE RideKC Shuttles are highly recommended.
KC Streetcar Riders:
KC Streetcar operates a free, 2.2-mile route loop through Downtown Kansas City with access to hotels, parking, restaurants and more. Attendees can utilize the NORTH LOOP stop at 7th & Main to exit the KC Streetcar and pickup the official RideKC Shuttles.
- North Loop KC Streetcar Stop (short walk to 7th & Baltimore RideKC Shuttles)
Rideshare (Uber, Lyft, ZTrip, Taxis):
Attendees utilizing rideshare are encouraged to tell their driver to drop attendees at the 7th & Baltimore shuttle location. Attendees can pickup the Free RideKC Shuttles to the air show.
NO rideshare vehicles will be allowed to access the airport.
Designated walking routes across the Buck O’Neil Bridge will be available at specific times. If you DO NOT utilize the Free RideKC Shuttles, the only way to get to the air show is to walk across the bridge. The walk is approximately ¾-mile to the KC Air Show gate.

Is parking free?
General parking in designated KC Air Show parking lots, including accessible parking, is FREE. Parking is available on a first come, first served basis. Additional parking lots are available at the discretion of landowners and parking cost will vary. KC Air Show, its sponsors, and the City of Kansas City, Missouri are not responsible for loss, damage or theft of vehicles or personal items; these entities are also not responsible for towing or removal of improperly parked or incapacitated vehicles. Please do not leave valuables in your vehicle.
What about accessible parking?
Accessible Parking for guests with disabilities is available at both designated KC Air Show parking areas. Guests must have their state-issued tag or placard visible. There is NO available accessible parking on-site at the airport.
The FREE RideKC Shuttles will have designated accessible shuttles.
Is there premium parking?

What time does the show start?
The gates will open at approximately 9:00 a.m. on both show days, July 6th and July 7th. Gates will close at approximately 5:00 p.m. each day. Aerial performances are scheduled to start at approximately 10:30 a.m. both days.
Will you publish a show schedule?
No. We list our performers, but cannot give specific times at which the acts will fly. All acts are subject to change/cancellation without notice depending on availability and various other conditions.
Is the show the same both Saturday and Sunday?
The KC Air Show schedule is expected to be the same both days. There may be some variations depending on special aircraft, which may make only a one-day-fly-by appearance but the general performance schedule of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and U.S. Army Golden Knights is scheduled to be the same on both days. Schedules and acts are subject to change without notice due to mechanical and/or other conditions. Times of flight for each performer will not be posted due to security issues.
Do I need tickets? What tickets are available?
All admissions to the KC Air Show will require a ticket. Several ticket options and pricing levels are available based on when they are purchased and applicable discounts.
Premium seating options are available for purchase.

While day of show tickets may be available, we will have a limited amount of walk up tickets and encourage advance purchase to ensure the day you want to attend is available. Please check our website or social media if planning a day of show ticket purchase.
What’s included with my ticket?
A variety of ticket options are available.
These tickets are available as single-day admission, Saturday, July 6 or Sunday, July 7. They include access access to the KC Air Show and all scheduled performances. You can also purchase food, drinks, merchandise and souvenirs from the various KC Air Show vendors and retailers on-site.
Flight Line Club and Gold Club
These tickets are single-day admission, Saturday, July 6 or Sunday, July 7, and will gain you admission into the KC Air Show along with special access to the designated seating area. The Flight Line Club is box seating while the Gold Club includes box seating and access to food and beverage.
Where can I purchase tickets?

While day of show tickets may be available, we will have a limited amount of walk up tickets and encourage advance purchase to ensure the day you want to attend is available. Do you offer any military, senior, or other discounts?
Active duty military with a government-issued ID will receive free admission at the gate.
Veterans with ID (VHIC, VIC, VCC, Veteran’s designation on state-issued driver’s license, etc.) will receive a discounted ticket price of $25 at the gate (28% discount from the gate price). Children’s admission (Ages 6-12) tickets remain $8.50 at the gate. Youth admission (Ages 13-17) tickets remain $15 at the gate.
Are children free?
Please go to www.kcairshow.org/tickets for a complete list of tickets and prices. Children 5 & Under are FREE for general admission seating. Flight Line Club and Gold Club tickets have specific age requirements.
Do I need to print my tickets?
You may either print your tickets at home or display your tickets on your smartphone for entry to the KC Air Show. Tickets must be scanned to enter the KC Air Show. The ticket scanners at the gate can scan printed tickets or tickets on your phone. Be sure to have your tickets ready to go before you get to the gates.
I can't find my tickets.
Tickets purchased in advance are sent to the email address you entered upon your purchase. You may need to check any junk or spam folders you have just in case. If you need your tickets resent to you, please contact Etix Phone Center/Customer Service Center.

What if it rains?
KC Air Show is a rain or shine event. Ticket is for KC Air Show, not for a specific performer. Unfortunately, there are no refunds, regardless of weather unless the gates do not open as scheduled. As the show is rain or shine, performers can adjust their flying to various weather conditions.
Tickets are day specific and can not be exchanged for another day.
Can I bring my pet?
Pets are NOT allowed at the KC Air Show other than service animals. The temperatures on the tarmac area can easily reach over 100 degrees and the loud noises of planes and pyrotechnics can injure your animal’s hearing. Please leave your pet(s) at home and DO NOT leave your pet(s) in vehicles.
Will there be shade?
Air shows are held under an open sky to allow for premium viewing opportunities. Please bring hats, sunglasses, and non-aerosol sunscreen. You may also bring a small personal umbrella and chair. No large umbrellas, tents, or canopies allowed. Umbrellas will not be allowed in the Premium Seating areas. Limited shade may be available under the wings of certain aircraft.
Can I leave to go to my car and come back?
For security purposes and general event logistics, re-entry will NOT be allowed once you have exited the air show.
Can I fly in to the KC Air Show?
You may fly in to KMKC arriving no later than 09:00 a.m. either Saturday or Sunday. The City of Kansas City has limited available parking (6 spaces) located on the GA ramp. Once the GA locations are full or if you chose you will be directed to park at either Signature Flight or Atlantic Aviation FBO (It is highly recommended you make advance arrangements as ramp space will be limited.) You may pre-purchase your KC Air Show tickets on-line in advance (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) or buy at the Main Gate (Tickets cost more the day of the show.) You will have transportation to the other side of the field for the air show entrance. The FBO will pick you up after the show so you can expect to depart after 1700 hours (The airspace and airport will be closed from 0900 to 1700 hours to all traffic other than air show performers managed by the Air Boss.)
What am I allowed to bring?
To provide a safer environment for the public and to significantly expedite attendee entry into the air show, the KC Air Show has adopted a clear bag policy, similar to that of the NFL, which limits the size and type of bag that can be brought into the event. Guests are strongly encouraged not to bring any type of bag though we understand families will be traveling with small children and certain items may be necessary. Those attending the show with clear bags or NO bags will have expedited access to the KC Air Show.
As a reminder, ALL BAGS AND ITEMS ARE SUBJECT TO SEARCH AT ANY TIME.
Below is an outline of what is permissible:
- 16” x 16” x 8” or smaller Clear Plastic Bag, with or without a handle or strap
- Bags that do not exceed 16” x 16” x 8” will be allowed to the KC Air Show after a thorough inspection
- Purses that do not exceed 16″ x 16″ x 8″ will be allowed to the KC Air Show after a thorough inspection
- Coolers, Large Backpacks or Bags that exceed 16″ x 16″ x 8″ are prohibited
- An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection
The following items are also allowed:
- Folding or Camping Chairs will be allowed to the KC Air Show after a thorough inspection
- Wheelchairs and motorized scooters (Note: There is no place to plug in and recharge)
- Small soft-sided coolers for medical purposes or baby items only
- Small, personal umbrellas (Umbrellas are not allowed inside the Premium Seating areas)
- Cameras and Camera Bags will be allowed to the KC Air Show after a thorough inspection
- Blanket to sit on
- Water Bottle (Factory sealed/unopened 1-liter or smaller bottle, one per person)
ALL BAGS AND ITEMS ARE SUBJECT TO SEARCH AT ANY TIME. The KC Air Show reserves the right to modify this list at any time.
What items are prohibited?
Heightened security policies have been established by the KC Air Show. We would like to remind you that these enhanced security measures are for your safety. We understand that this may be an added inconvenience, however due to the nature of current world events, we feel they are necessary. The following items are prohibited:
- Bags/purses in excess of 16” x 16” x 8” (all bags/purses will be thoroughly inspected)
- Backpacks in excess of 16” x 16” x 8” (all backpacks will be thoroughly inspected)
- Camera bags in excess of 16″ x 16″ x 8″ (all cameras and camera bags will be thoroughly inspected)
- All outside food and beverage (except one factory sealed 1-liter or smaller bottle, per person allowed)
- Weapons/fireworks of any kind (Including all guns and pocket knives, no exceptions)
- Items that could be projectiles
- Banners or flags with sticks in them
- Bullhorns/air-horns/cowbells (or other noise makers deemed by event staff to be unacceptable)
- Lasers or laser pens/pointers
- Hard-sided coolers of any kind
- Anything that can obstruct a fans view
- Wrapped presents and/or gifts of any kind
- Pets or animals not documented as service dogs
- Aerosol cans (i.e. sunscreen, hairspray, mace, etc.)
- Toy guns or toy knives
- Beach balls or other inflatables
- Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (DRONES)
If any of the above items are discovered at our gates, our security staff members will ask that you return these items to your vehicle or be thrown away. Prohibited items will not be stored at the gates or guest services.

Can I bring my drone?
As indicated above, the KC Air Show is a NO DRONE ZONE. No drones of any kind will be allowed
How can I volunteer for the air show?
Thank you for your interest in volunteering! Volunteer opportunities for the KC Air Show will be available soon. The website and our social media channels will indicate when volunteer signups are live.
Is there a Lost and Found?
There will be very strict security before, during, and after the KC Air Show. In the event you become separated from your child please go to the lost and found area, at the First Aid Booth, or ask a volunteer for assistance. For Lost and Found items, the KC Air Show will have record of all found items approximately 3 days after the event. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are looking for a Lost & Found item.
Do I need ear protection?
It is recommended to use ear plugs to reduce the noise levels for some performers
Is it all seating or standing room only?
For general admission, it is standing room as available on the ramp area. You may bring your own lawn/folding chairs or blankets to sit on. Premium seating is available at an increased charge over GA. More information about our seating options can be found by clicking on our tickets page.
Will there be ATMs on-site?
The KC Air Show will have designated ATMs on-site for attendee use.
Can I get a refund or exchange?
All sales are final. KC Air Show is a rain or shine event. Ticket is for KC Air Show, not for a specific performer. Unfortunately, there are no refunds, regardless of weather unless the gates do not open as scheduled.
